About Travelshoppe: 30+ Years of Celebrating Success in Your Journey

Travelshoppe Company Limited is an IATA-accredited travel management company headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya. Founded in 1994 as part of the Ramco Group of Companies and led by Managing Director Seema Raval, we have spent more than three decades building the expertise, relationships, and systems that make seamless travel possible, for corporations managing global programmes, for families planning the safari of a lifetime, and for everyone in between.

We are the exclusive Kenya partner of GlobalStar Travel Management, members of KATA, KATO, KTF, ATTA, and a company built on a simple belief: that every journey, whether it crosses a boardroom or a bush, deserves personal attention, professional excellence, and genuine care.

This is our story.

Since 1994

Our Story: From a Nairobi Office to a Global Travel Partner

  1. 1994

Travelshoppe Company Limited was incorporated on 11 May 1994, a time when Kenya's travel industry was built on telex machines, paper tickets, and relationships forged over handshakes and shared cups of chai. The company was established as a subsidiary of the Ramco Group of Companies, with a founding vision to bring world-class travel management to Kenyan organisations and travellers at a time when the industry was still largely informal and fragmented.

  2. Earning Trust

The early years were about earning trust. We invested in IATA accreditation, a rigorous process that required demonstrating financial stability, professional competence, and adherence to international airline industry standards. That accreditation opened the door to direct ticketing relationships with every major carrier, giving our clients access to fares and booking flexibility that non-accredited agencies could not match. It also signalled to the market that Travelshoppe operated to a global standard, not just a local one.

  3. Late 1990s to 2000s

Through the late 1990s and into the 2000s, we grew steadily, adding corporate clients, deepening our safari and leisure expertise, and building the supplier relationships that would become one of our most valuable assets. Airline partnerships, hotel group agreements, lodge contracts across Kenya's national parks and conservancies, each relationship was cultivated personally, tested over thousands of bookings, and maintained through consistent performance.

  4. Weathering Disruption

The challenges came too, and each one tested our resilience. The post-9/11 travel security overhaul reshaped the industry overnight. The 2008 global recession forced cost discipline on every corporate travel programme. And then COVID-19 brought international travel to a near-complete halt, threatening the survival of travel companies worldwide. Travelshoppe navigated each disruption by doing what we have always done: putting our clients first. During COVID, our team worked around the clock to repatriate stranded travellers, rebook cancelled itineraries, negotiate refunds and credits, and maintain communication with every affected client. We emerged from the pandemic leaner, more technologically capable, and more convinced than ever that the human relationships at the core of our business are irreplaceable.

  5. Today

Today, Travelshoppe serves 300+ corporate clients and has facilitated travel for more than 10,000 individuals. Our team manages corporate travel programmes for multinationals, NGOs, and embassies. Our safari consultants design wildlife experiences across every national park and conservancy in Kenya. Our leisure travel team crafts holidays from Diani Beach weekends to multi-country European adventures. Our visa specialists guide thousands of successful applications each year. And our MICE division delivers corporate events that combine Nairobi's business infrastructure with Kenya's extraordinary natural settings.

The tagline we chose years ago, "Celebrating Success in Your Journey", still captures who we are. Every booking, every itinerary, every resolved emergency, every client who returns to book again, that is the success we celebrate.

What guides us

Our Mission, Vision, and Values

Our Mission

To deliver exceptional travel experiences through expert knowledge, personal service, and seamless logistics, empowering organisations and individuals to travel with confidence, efficiency, and joy.

Our Vision

To be recognised as East Africa's most trusted and innovative travel management company, the first name that comes to mind when a Kenyan organisation needs a travel partner or a Kenyan family plans its next adventure.

Our Values

Integrity.

We give honest advice even when it is not what the client expects to hear. If a cheaper option serves you better, we say so. If a destination does not suit your needs, we recommend an alternative. Trust is earned through transparency, and we protect it fiercely.

Excellence.

Good enough is never good enough. Every itinerary, every booking confirmation, every airport transfer is executed to the highest standard, because the details that seem small to us can make or break a client's experience.

Personal Service.

Technology enhances what we do, but it does not replace who we are. Every client works with a dedicated human consultant who knows their name, their preferences, and their travel history. That personal relationship is the foundation of everything we deliver.

Partnership.

We succeed when our clients succeed. Whether it is a corporate finance director measuring travel spend savings or a family measuring smiles per game drive, our success metric is always the same: did we deliver what we promised, and did we exceed expectations?

Kenyan Pride.

We are a Kenyan company, built in Kenya, staffed by Kenyans, and deeply proud of what this country offers the world. Every safari we design, every international trip we plan, every corporate programme we manage carries with it our belief that Kenya's travel industry is world-class, and that a Kenyan company can deliver at the highest global standard.

Leadership

Leadership: Meet Our Managing Director

Seema Raval serves as Managing Director of Travelshoppe Company Limited, leading the company's strategic direction, client relationships, and operational excellence. Under her leadership, Travelshoppe has grown from a respected Kenyan travel agency into a GlobalStar-affiliated travel management company serving 300+ corporate clients across East Africa and beyond.

Seema's philosophy is rooted in the belief that the travel industry, at its best, is a people business, and that technology should amplify human expertise, not replace it. That philosophy shapes every aspect of how Travelshoppe operates: dedicated personal consultants for every client, investment in the latest booking and reporting technology, and a company culture that values relationships above transactions.

The result is the reach and consistency of a global TMC with the personal attention and deep local knowledge of an independent agency.

No other travel agency in Kenya offers this combination. We are the only GlobalStar affiliate in East Africa, and our membership gives our clients access to the network's collective buying power, service standards, and global reporting capabilities. Tools in service of people

Technology and Innovation

Travel management has evolved dramatically since 1994, and Travelshoppe has evolved with it, investing continuously in the technology that makes modern travel efficient, transparent, and safe, while never losing sight of the personal service that technology cannot replicate.

Amadeus GDS Platform

Our operations run on the Amadeus Global Distribution System, the same platform used by the world's leading airlines, hotels, and TMCs. Amadeus gives our consultants real-time access to global flight and hotel inventory, pricing, and booking capability, ensuring that every itinerary is built on accurate, current data. For corporate clients, our Amadeus-powered online booking tools allow employees to search and book within policy parameters through a self-service interface.

Corporate Reporting Dashboards

Our corporate clients receive customised reporting dashboards providing real-time visibility into travel spend, policy compliance, supplier utilisation, and cost-saving opportunities, transforming raw booking data into the actionable intelligence that finance directors and travel managers need.

The Technology + Human Touch Philosophy

Every tool we deploy serves a single purpose: freeing our consultants to focus on what technology cannot do, listening, advising, problem-solving, and caring. The best travel management sits at the intersection of powerful systems and experienced people, and that intersection is exactly where Travelshoppe operates.

Looking after the place

Our Commitment to Responsible Travel

Kenya's natural heritage, the savannahs, the wildlife, the coastline, the mountains, the communities, is not just our business backdrop. It is the reason our business exists. Without healthy ecosystems and thriving communities, there are no safaris, no beach holidays, no cultural experiences. Travelshoppe recognises that the travel industry has both an opportunity and an obligation to protect what it sells.

Community Conservancy Partnerships

We prioritise partnerships with lodges and camps that operate within community conservancies, models where Maasai, Samburu, and other local communities receive direct revenue from tourism in exchange for setting aside land for wildlife. This conservancy model has proven to be Kenya's most effective conservation strategy, and by directing clients to these properties, we contribute to its sustainability.

Responsible Tourism Standards

As KATO members, we adhere to the association's responsible tourism guidelines, including off-road driving restrictions, wildlife disturbance protocols, waste management standards, and fair labour practices. We support Kenya's progressive environmental policies, including the 2017 plastic bag ban and the ban on single-use plastics in national parks and beaches.

An Evolving Commitment

Our commitment is ongoing and evolving. We are exploring carbon offset partnerships for client flights, increasing our portfolio of eco-certified accommodation partners, and working to integrate sustainability messaging into every itinerary we design. Responsible travel is not a marketing strategy, it is a business imperative, and we take it seriously.
